Hosted downtown at various studios and outreach locations, the Art Gallery of St. Albert offers an ever-changing variety of art classes targeted at ages from preschool to adult. Add some beauty to your life by choosing from subjects such as printmaking, sketching, watercolour painting, acrylic painting, collage and pottery. Homeschool art classes, community outreach programs and art parties are also available for booking.
The sunny workspace of this studio is its own inspiration. Learn to create ornaments, décor or jewellery with glass fusion techniques. Or, apply your creative flair to glazing stoneware or painting pottery in various forms. From birthday parties and drop-in ceramics painting to corporate team-building, Glazing Pot aims to connect people with arts, and one another. Art camps, workshops and field trips are all available, tailored for ages three and up.
Watercolour, oil, acrylics, coloured pencil and ink and rouge are the mediums you’ll find when you Paint for Joy. Begun more than 15 years ago, the studio offers classes in drawing and painting, some of which are taught by guest artists. No experience is required, as owner Carol Maxwell believes art should not be limited to those who are “naturally gifted.” The studio also offers custom framing and features a gift gallery of locally produced original artwork. Additionally, art supplies can be purchased in-house.
