Fabulous food! I have walked by on several occasions and was certainly not disappointed when finally trying their place. You can tell the food is made from scratch and with skill. The real buffalo mozzarella in the caprese is a nice change and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Ambiance was nice and relaxed, not overly noisy. Waiters are very nice and attentive. We had the brunch/lunch menu. The waitresses were very attentive. Served right away. Food was quite tasty, although the only negative part about it was that it came out a lukewarm. The catfish lafyette was delicious! Yam and yukon hash was good, but would've been better if served hot, as potatoes tend to get rubbery when it gets cold. The ribs were not bad either. Thank goodness I was on guest list so I didn't have to pay cover!! I was surprised at the lack of lineup at the door but I guess it was because I was relatively earlier than the regular hr that everyone else shows up (although i don't consider 11:20pm that early to go clubbing) but I heard that it gets busy after 12, which was in fact, quite true. So when I got inside, there weren't a lot of people and when i looked up to the overhanging balconies, ceiling and walls, i felt like i could really imagine it from its courthouse days. It makes the experience more unique but also a bit thought provoking. Found this place one morning after a party and had breakfast with a friend. Loved the food, loved the decor. Restaurant is clean and the food is adequately priced for their downtown location. You don't feel rushed to finish up and get out - the chef guy even left a pot of coffee on our table so we could refill it ourselves. The chef guy does have an attitude but he is not obnoxious. Sometimes he gets bored and will eavesdrop on your conversation and make commentary, or crack a few jokes with you. He is authentic, and so is his restaurant.
